Private photo and film shoots that are not published are generally permitted in all houses without tripods and other equipment (without flash) and do not require any further permission. If the footage is to be published at a later date as part of commercial use, please contact presse@pinakothek.de. We are always happy if you share your pictures with us on Instagram !

In general, photography and filming are possible in the Pinakotheken, the Sammlung Schack and in the Branch Galleries of the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen. In order to avoid disturbing visitors in the galleries and to protect the exhibits, the technical effort required for filming must be kept to a minimum. In addition, all film and photographic work must be announced and approved in advance. As the work will be supervised by the press department and security staff, we ask that in the case of commercial shoots and non-daily editorial coverage, you allow us sufficient advance notice to organise a smooth process. Since photo shoots and filming require a great deal of additional personnel and financial effort on our part, we have to charge fees for commercial shoots and for editorial work that does not involve current news coverage.

To request a filming or photography permit, please complete the Filming and Photography Request Form (PDF) and send it to presse@pinakothek.de.
