The Palais Pinakothek opens up the entire building to the public on every second Sunday in the month. This enables families and visitors of every age to join in activities in the different rooms of the Palais. We look forward to a visit from you in our OPEN PALAIS. (Application is not required)

OPEN PALAIS: ART SPEAKS

For the last time this year, the Palais Pinakothek is offering its visitors the opportunity to explore the relationship between language and art:
Art »speaks« to us through images, forms and colors. Words pop up in artworks. The title of a work can take on the image-defining role of protagonist or antagonist. And we also ultimately use words as a tool to help us enter into a dialogue about art.
At the Open Palais these various aspects come alive: A room will be devoted to language: a place where the fine line between words and images can be explored. Within the framework of a workshop, letters will be created with unusual, quasi physical characteristics that »speak« through material, form and proportion. In the salon, words will cover the tables and fill the space. In the »Wunderkammer« (»Chamber of Wonders«) words will be grouped like building-blocks to form entire sentences, making the organization of language visible and comprehensible.

Visitors of all ages and families are cordially invited to join in. Bring a snack along with you - water and tea are available in our kitchen.
