Pinakothek der Moderne
Sammlung Moderne Kunst
Dirk Bell (*1969) employs seemingly conflicting pictorial languages in his drawings, paintings, sculptures and installations, ranging from Symbolism and Art Nouveau to Minimal Art and the pop culture of the present day. His focus on the aesthetic, i.e. the superficial structures of these movements, corresponds to the critical questioning of the agenda in each case. As such, concepts and pictorial correlations are opened up and gain an ambivalent meaning. Following solo and group exhibitions in London, Basel, Berlin and Baden-Baden, the show at the Pinakothek der Moderne is the artists first in his native city.
The exhibition is funded by SÜDHAUSBAU COLLECTION and PIN. Friends of the Pinakothek der Moderne e.V.
