German painter, born c.1465/70 in Memmingen. Probably the son of the painter Hans Strigel the Younger and also his pupil. His name is mentioned for the first time in 1505 in the tax register of Memmingen. From 1517 he was a member of the council in Memmingen, initially as counsellor, later as chief warden of the painter's guild. On a number of occasions he was sent to conduct negotiations outside the town on behalf of the council. He died some time prior to 4 May 1528 in Memmingen.
