Goals of the Association
The Pinakotheks-Verein (Association) is a non profit organisation with headquarters
in Munich. Currently, it has around 320 members and patrons. The association
supports the Alte Pinakothek and the Neue Pinakothek in expanding their collections
through the purchase of paintings and helps promote activities for visitors and
those interested in the Pinakothek museums.
Originally, the association was founded to support the rebuilding of the Alte
Pinakothek, which was destroyed during World War II. Once this goal was achieved,
the articles of the association were changed to include patronage of the Alte
and Neue Pinakothek and their collections.
The association’s programme regularly offers guided tours, events, lectures
and small journeys for members and patrons. In addition, you will be invited
to all the openings of new exhibitions as well as to private viewings. |
